Teachers and their staff can use this form to apply for a new course. Students who are missing a course can not apply for it, but should go to the start page, scroll down to the course list, and look there for the course. If it is there, click on it and then click on "Enrol me".

Welcome to the Winter semester 2025/26!

Welcome at the TU Darmstadt and in the modules offered by the Computer Science Department, especially to our "Freshies"!

For your orientation:

• The modules you may be looking for can be found at this start page. Please scroll down until you see a heading "Kursbereiche" (module areas). Then click on the appropriate section (for Bachelor freshmen, this would most likely be the "Pflicht-/Wahlpflichtbereich" link, and then click "Enrol me".
• Currently, not all modules have been switched to "visible", as the educatos may still be working on them. Please be patient and check back later if you are missing one of "your" modules.
• Within the first week (October 13-19), there are usually no exercise sessions, even though TUCaN may show them for some modules. Please check with the information inside the Moodle course.
• For "freshies" in our Bachelor Informatik: please ignore the long list of bookings for "Erfolgreich ins Informatik-Studium starten" shown in the TUCaN schedule as "eiiss". You will later select your personal consultation slot in the Moodle course.

Moodle News and Hints

Please note the following information:

• You do not see your list of enrolled courses? Go to the Dashboard, click on "Edit mode" (at the top right) and insert - via "Add a block" - the block "Course overview". Also make sure to select "All" in the course list.
• You do not want to see all of your courses, but only "your favourites"? Start the course overview as in the previous item and mark each course you want to see as a favourite (click on the three dots, then on "Star this course"), and then adapt the display from "All" to "Starred".
• The additional navigation in some plugins - mostly relevant for educators, and mostly if the theme "Boost" is used - may have wandered into a side blick, as a list of links. Note that you may have to choose "More" to see it if there are too many items.
• The display of the courses is very strange? The theme you may have selected in your profile may not support the current Moodle version. Please go to your profile (click on your avatar at the top and click on "Profile"), then click "Edit profile" and choose "Default" unter "Preferred theme" (and do not forget click on the "Update profile" button at the bottom of the page!){mlang}

Online Consultation Hours of the Exam Office (Studienbüro) in the CS Department

Do you have questions regarding the transfer of exams and credits, study regulations, transcripts of records, or issues with registering for (or unregistering from) exams?

Use (as a student of the CS Department) the Zoom consultation hours of the CS Department's exam office (Studienbüro):

• Wednesday 10:00-12:00 for Bachelor students
• Wednesday 10:00-12:00 for Master students

During the consultation hours, either link will first lead you to a waiting room. You will be invited to your consultation meeting as soon as the next slot is available. You will also be notified about anticipated waiting times in the waiting room chat.

Prüfungsanmeldezeitraum im Fachbereich Informatik

• Study examinations (seminars, labs etc.): Sept. 1 to January 31 (winter semester) / March 1 to June 30 (summer semester) - for seminars, labs etc., as well as for exam qualifications for mandatory B.Sc. Information modules in the first year of study. Please note that some deadlines may end before the date given!
• Exams: Nov. 1 to January 31 (winter semester) and May 1 to June 30 (summer term) for written exams or oral exams. Please note that the exam registration for the mandatory courses in the B.Sc. Informatik for the first two semesters first requires selecting an exercise group and registering for the "Studienleistung" (exam qualification).
• Multi-part exams ("vorlesungsbegleitend"): up to one month before the first part of the exam
• Modules offered by other departments (especially the mandatory Maths modules in the B.Sc. Informatik) may have different deadlines; usually, the exam registration is only possible between Nov. 15-Dec. 15 (winter semester) and June 1-30 (summer semester).
