AI systems increasingly influence decisions in our everyday life. Yet they often reproduce and amplify gender and diversity biases. This seminar investigates ethical and societal questions around AI, with a focus on (gender) diversity in computer science.
Students will engage with interdisciplinary research papers from computer science, ethics, and social sciences. They will critically discuss algorithmic bias, ethical frameworks for AI, and gender perspectives in computing. Each student will then develop their own research question and write a scientific paper on a chosen topic. The seminar is well-suited for students who want to broaden their perspective on computer science and reflect on the societal impact of their technical work.
